Hi, I’m Jessica Cortés—designer, artist, and the founder of Mod North & Co.
With a background in interior design and a deep appreciation for natural materials, I’ve always believed that the most soulful spaces are filled with intention, beauty, and art that tells a story. At Mod North & Co., I handcraft one-of-a-kind agate wall hangings, garlands, and artisan clocks—each piece made to reflect a balance of earthy luxury and modern boho charm.
I hold a Bachelor of Arts in Interior Design from Mount Mary University and spent over a decade designing commercial interiors across the corporate, healthcare, education, and government sectors. In 2012, with the birth of our first child, I paused my design career to embrace a new role: stay-at-home mother. That chapter—rooted in family and home—rekindled my love for creating.
What began as a small vintage décor shop soon evolved when I stumbled across a beautiful, aquamarine agate clock. After restoring and listing it, the piece was featured on Etsy’s front page in 2016—and sold immediately. That one moment sparked a new path: combining my eye for design with my passion for natural stone.
In 2017, I launched Mod North & Co., offering agate clocks, wall art, and garlands designed to elevate and inspire. Over the years, we’ve handcrafted and sold over 10,000 pieces from our Wisconsin studio, always using premium, ethically sourced Brazilian agate and partnering with small U.S. businesses for high-quality materials.
As of 2025, Mod North & Co. has entered a new era—one rooted in clarity, creativity, and what our customers truly love most. We’ve moved away from made-to-order and now offer a curated collection of Available Works: ready-to-ship, fully completed designs that reflect our most cherished palettes and styles. This shift allows me to design more intentionally, craft from what’s in front of me, and offer you the very best of my work—without the wait.
Every piece is designed in-studio and infused with purpose, warmth, and artistry. Once it’s sold, it’s gone for good. If something speaks to you, trust your instinct—it’s likely one-of-a-kind.
Outside the studio, I’m a homeschooling mother of five, married to my best friend—a Marine veteran—and together we’re raising our family in the lake country of Oconomowoc, Wisconsin. Our life is centered on faith, family, and freedom, and those values find their way into everything I create.
